DRUG, ALCOHOL AND WEAPONS SAFETY POLICY
1.
Introduction
1.1.
The present Drug, Alcohol and Weapons Safety Policy (the “Policy”) of Onetech Group Limited, together with its subsidiaries and affiliated companies, (collectively the “Group”) aims to promote a safe and healthy workplace by preventing the use, possession, distribution or sale of drugs and weapons in the workplace. It applies to all employees, regardless of their position or location, including remote work environments (the “Employees”), contractors, visitors and other individuals accessing the Group’s premises.
1.2.
The Group is committed to providing a safe and productive work environment, free from the risks associated with drugs, alcohol and weapons.
2.
Prohibitions of Drugs and Alcohol
2.1.
The Group is committed to maintaining a drug and alcohol-free workplace.
2.2.
The use, possession, distribution, or sale of illegal drugs or controlled substances, and the misuse of prescription drugs or alcohol, is strictly prohibited on Group premises or during Group-related activities (including travel or events).
(a)
Illegal Drugs: The possession, use, manufacture, distribution or sale of illegal drugs, controlled substances or psychoactive substances, as defined under applicable law, is strictly prohibited.
(b)
Alcohol Use: Employees are prohibited from consuming alcohol during working hours, including while on breaks, unless specifically authorized for business-related events.
(c)
Prescription Medication: Employees who are lawfully using prescription medication that may impair their ability to perform their duties safely are encouraged to inform the Human Resources Department, without disclosing unnecessary medical details, where such disclosure is required to assess fitness for work or to implement appropriate safety measures or reasonable accommodations.
2.3.
Violation of this Policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
3.
Prohibitions of Weapons
3.1.
The Group strictly prohibits the possession, use, or storage of weapons of any kind on Group premises or during work-related activities, including firearms, knives, explosives, or any other object that may pose a threat to the safety of Employees or others.
3.2.
Weapons are not allowed on Group premises under any circumstances, whether concealed or openly carried.
3.3.
The only exception to this rule applies where an Employee is expressly required to carry a weapon as part of their lawful job responsibilities (e.g. licensed security personnel), and only where prior written approval has been granted by the Chief Executive Officer or a duly authorised senior officer of the Group, in compliance with applicable law.
3.4.
Any Employee found in violation of this Policy will face immediate disciplinary action, including potential termination. Any illegal possession of weapons will be reported to the nearest police station.
4.
Workplace Safety and Reporting
4.1.
The Group is committed to maintaining a safe work environment. If any Employee observes any suspicious behaviour or becomes aware of drugs, alcohol, or weapons being brought onto Group premises, they should report it immediately to the Human Resources Department. The relevant departments, including the Human Resources Department and the Legal Department, will investigate all such reports confidentially and take appropriate action. Reports may also be made in accordance with the Group’s Whistleblowing Policy.
4.2.
Employees should report concerns about their own or others’ potential impairment due to drugs or alcohol directly to the Human Resources Department or through the reporting mechanisms provided under the Group’s Whistleblowing Policy.
4.3.
All reports will be treated with respect and confidentiality, and retaliation for reporting is strictly prohibited.
5.
Confidentiality
5.1.
The Group recognises the importance of privacy and confidentiality in relation to any drug, alcohol or weapons-related matters.
5.2.
Any personal data processed under this Policy shall be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR, and shall be processed on a strictly need-to-know basis, with appropriate technical and organisational safeguards in place.
6.
Responsibility
6.1.
Employee Responsibility: Employees are responsible for adhering to this Policy and ensuring that their behaviour does not jeopardize the safety or well-being of themselves or their coworkers.
6.2.
Management Responsibility: Supervisors and managers are responsible for enforcing this Policy, providing necessary support to Employees, and fostering a safe work environment. They are also expected to take appropriate action in cases of suspected Policy violations.
7.
Policy Acknowledgment
7.1.
All Employees are required to read and acknowledge this Policy upon commencement of their employment and whenever the Policy is updated. Failure to comply with the terms of this Policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
8.
Policy Hierarchy
8.1.
In the event of any inconsistency between this Policy and other Group policies, including the Code of Business Ethics and Conduct or the Whistleblowing Policy, the stricter standard shall apply, subject always to applicable law.
9.
Conclusion
9.1.
The Group is committed to maintaining a safe and supportive work environment for all Employees and stakeholders. By adhering to the provisions of this Policy, all Employees can collectively contribute to a workplace where everyone’s health and safety are prioritized.
9.2.
All Employees and relevant stakeholders are expected to comply with this Policy in compliance with the national and international applicable rules and regulations.
